The Soul Shrine
The panels of the coffered ceiling were painted with articles used in “Esoteric Buddhism” and flowers such as peonies (my favorite) and irises. The cove was designed to show a dragon and clouds. In the inner shrine is a life-size portrait of Emperor Goumizunoo in Buddhist costume.
